Scrubbing is essential if you want to keep your skin soft and glowing. Though many professional skin exfoliation treatments are available, it is wise to opt for a tested homemade scrub. With all the natural ingredients, these scrubs do wonder. If you do not know how to make a scrub at home, I am giving you not one, but four recipes to make excellent exfoliators.
Body Scrub With Salt
As the name says, this scrub is suitable for your body only, not face. To make it, you need ½ cup sea salt, 15 drops of essential oil, and ½ cup of coconut oil. If you want, you can use almond oil or olive oil too. Mix all the three ingredients in a bowl thoroughly so that the mixture becomes smooth. Apply all over the body and rub gently in a circular motion. Then take a bath. All the dead cells of the skin will be removed.
Tested Homemade Scrub With Sugar
Sugar acts as an effective scrub for your body. To make this gentle scrub, you need 1 cup of granulated sugar, ten drops of essential oil, and ½ cup of sesame seeds oil. If you want, you can use vegetable oil or almond oil instead of sesame oil. Mix the sugar with the sesame oil properly and add the essential oil. Now wet your skin and apply the scrub all over the body. You can do this by your hand or use a loofah or washcloth. Rub slowly and wash with clean water. Try to use fine sugar instead of coarse granules.
Scrub Made With Oatmeal
This scrub is suitable for both the face and body. But when applying to face, be very gentle, particularly in the eye areas. Take 2 tbsp of oatmeal powder, 2 tbsp of sugar granules, and 2 tbsp of brown sugar in a bowl and mix them. Now add 1 tsp of fresh nutmeg powder and ½ cup of almond oil and mix again. Wet your face and body and apply the scrub in a circular motion. Wash off with cold water and get a soft and glowing face.
Tested Homemade Scrub With Tea Tree Oil
Do you have sensitive skin or blemishes? Then you should opt for a scrub made with tea tree oil as it has antiseptic as well as antibacterial properties. Persons with skin discoloration and also open pores can use this scrub to get an excellent result. To make it you need, four drops of pure oil of tea tree, cold-pressed coconut oil of 3 tbsp, 3 tbsp baking soda, and three drops of essential oil. Add each ingredient to a bowl and mix well. You can keep the mixture in an air-tight container. Make sure direct sunlight doesn’t fall on it.
Wash your face and apply the scrub with gentle hands all over the face. Let it stay for about five minutes and rinse well with plain water. Do not use any face wash or soap for washing face after using this scrub.
